BlockSide is a booking and appointment platform for solo wellness practitioners, such as licensed massage therapists, and their clients. This page explains exactly how our text messaging works and how you consent to it. It is public — you do not need an account to read it.
SMS is never required to use BlockSide. You sign in with your email address, not a text message. Text messaging is a separate, optional feature you turn on yourself — it is off by default, and you can turn it off at any time.
How you opt in
Signing in to BlockSide uses your email address and a one-time code sent to that email — no phone number is involved. To receive text messages, you take three deliberate steps in your account, under Settings → Notifications:
- Turn on the "Also text me these" switch. It is off by default — nothing is sent unless you turn it on.
- Add your mobile number and tap "Text me a code."
- Enter the one-time code to verify the number is yours and turn texts on.
The SMS opt-in is unbundled — it is its own switch, never combined with any other agreement, and never part of signing in or booking.
The opt-in, exactly as it appears in the app
This is a faithful reproduction of the Notifications control inside BlockSide. The switch is shown in its real default state — off — and the add-number step appears only after it is turned on:
To get texts, add a mobile number. We’ll send a one-time code to verify it’s yours.
I agree to receive account-related text messages from BlockSide at the number above — appointment reminders, booking confirmations, and waitlist offers. No marketing. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Tap the second switch to see the add-number step the way a real user does.
